Duties

Duty 1: Plans and organizes Air Force Intelligence Community Security Control Assessments. Duty 2: Performs in-depth analysis of intelligence systems to ensure security controls adequately protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information being processed. Duty 3: Represents the organization at conferences and meetings and presents briefings.

• All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
• Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with access to Sensitive Compa1tmented Information (SCI).
• PCS will NOT be paid.
• This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
• Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
• Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. Information Assurance Management (IAM) work as a paramount duty requirement. Must obtain IAM-III certification within six months of hire or obtain a waiver not to exceed one year

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. NOTE: You must meet both the Basic Qualifications and Specialized Experience requirements stated below: BASIC REQUIREMENTS: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Knowledge of a wide range of IT INFOSEC concepts, practices, principles and systems analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles. 2. Knowledge of US intelligence community (IC) policies, entities, missions, resources, operations, and capabilities; and of Unix or Linus, Microsoft windows, or network operating systems and extensive experience with system administration of Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows or network operating systems. 3. Knowledge of National, DoD, DIA, Air Force, IC security policies, tools and strategic planning goals and objectives; and the relationship of the various AF and IC entities involved in overall planning and execution of ISR cyber network defense, integrated defense of the IC information environment (IE), Information Assurance (IA) and Intelligence Oversight. 4. Knowledge of acquisition planning and contract methodologies sufficient to provide a critical analysis with recommended course of action on contractual matters; and of IT systems security practices and procedures. 5. Ability to communicate effectively complex ideas and analyses orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues as well as the ability to gain acceptance or agreement with controversial recommendations arising from security control assessments and maintain good working relationships. 6. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of the organization directly. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
