About the Position: Manages and administers the Security and Law Enforcement (S&LE) Program. Formulates District policies and provides program direction by issuing regulations, standards, and technical guidance. For the Honolulu District, manages surveys, incident investigation, and reporting. Is the primary point of contact for the Commander and advises the Commander and staff on S&LE matters. Serves as the District technical authority on S&LE.

Duties

Manage a comprehensive program for emergency actions during and after natural disasters and national crises. Manages and administers the Security and Law Enforcement program and establishes the program according to Federal regulations. Establishes a security training program requirements and oversees execution and educates managers and allied professionals by participation in committees, briefings, meetings, and through the development of written materials, and security campaigns. Administers the personnel security program to include requests and follow-up for full field or background investigations. Reviews construction plans and specifications for compliance with security measures and consults with design, maintenance, and operations personnel on security measures in planning and designing new construction or alterations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Designated Key Position - Position is designated as a "Key Position" in accordance with AR 690-11.
  • This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.
  • Because of the essential nature of this position, shall require that it not be filled by Ready Reservists to preclude such positions from being vacated during a mobilization.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.
  • Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and retain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Temporary duty travel (TDY) is required up to 15% of the time.
