Duties
Serve as the Security Specialist for one of the U.S. Army INDO-PACIFIC, JOINT PACIFIC MULITNATIONAL READINESS CENTER (JPMRC)-196 IN BDE.
Responsible for managing the full range of Antiterrorism (AT), Protection, and -Security programs.
Work under the JPMRC-196 S2 or S3 as a principal staff officer.
The employee is the authority and subject matter expert on the development, interpretation, and compliance of AT, protection, and security programs, regulations, and guidelines covering operations for the JPMRC-196.
Administration of programs is complicated due to the critical nature of the JPMRC-196 mission and facilities.
Requires knowledge of other security specialties in resolving major conflicts in policy and program objectives.
Oversee operational intelligence support.
Ensure Headquarters and deploying elements receive appropriate intelligence level support.
Provides technical advice, planning, and support for the Emergency Preparedness and Continuity of Operations Plan.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- TDY Travel required up to approximately 25 - 50% of the total duty time.
- During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hour which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing an organizations Antiterrorism (AT), Protection, and Security regulations, concepts, principles, and procedures; providing guidance on physical security program requirements; and assessing security systems for safeguarding security information, property, and personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
