You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the Automotive Repair Branch of the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation Division of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will maintain, repair or overhaul all types of heavy duty mobile and stationary construction equipment. You will repair specialized units on cranes, dozers, ditch diggers and graders. You will complete overhaul or repair of hydraulic pumps, cylinders, steering systems, cooling systems, governors, generators and electrical systems. You will complete overhaul and repair of gasoline and diesel engines.

• You must be able to distinguish colors.
• You will be required to work outdoors in a wide variety of weather conditions, including inclement weather.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You must possess your own tools with the exception of special tools, which are available from the tool room.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
