You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the Southwest Region Fleet Transportation Division, Maintenance Department of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will perform work related to the servicing, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy mobile equipment such as firefighting equipment, tank and pumper trucks, refueling trucks, and air field support equipment.
You will perform scheduled maintenance, operation checks, and repairs and adjustments, as needed
You will remove, adjust, or replace defective and worn part and components
You will assist higher graded personnel in disassembling/assembling, repairing major systems, components and operating mechanisms.
You will assist higher graded personnel in the complete overhaul and repair of major systems such as engines, transmissions, drive lines, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You must be able to repeatedly lift items weighing up to 45 pounds and occasionally life items up to 100 pounds.
- You must have a range of vision, corrected or non-corrected, for depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors. I have normal hearing with or without corrective devices.
- You must possess your own tools with the exception of special tools, ·which are available from the tool room.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
