You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST (REGIONAL SPECIAL OPERATIONS CHIEF) in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES (F&ES) of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.
Duties
You will inspect fire apparatus requiring repair or preventive maintenance.
You will serve as a technical advisor in the management of a regional fire and emergency services program.
You will serve as a consultant on problems encountered during inspections.
You will assess agency compliance with law, regulations, policies, and requirements related to fire prevention of fire protection programs.
You will write an agency's annual accreditation report.
You will prepare inspection reports to document findings of fire safety deficiencies.

- Must maintain the ability to carry weight in excess of 100 pounds in addition to wearing protective clothing and equipment weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
- Employee shall work 56 hour work week.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing an accident prevention program to provide and monitor safe work practices within a fire department; 2) Developing and implementing a protective clothing and equipment program to ensure program requirements are met; 3) Coordinating disaster preparedness matters to provide advice and interpret requirements for a regional fire department; and 4) Directing the operation, maintenance and repair of emergency vehicles and equipment.

Certification requirements: This position requires the incumbent to possess the following IFSAC/PRO BOARD certifications: HAZMAT INCIDENT COMMANDER, FIRE OFFICER III, FIRE INSTRUCTOR II, FIRE INSPECTOR II, AIRPORT FIREFIGHTER, and NREMT. Certifications must be attached.
