You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the Fire Protection Division of COMNAVREGSW SDIEGO.

Duties

You will serve as a technical advisor in the management of a regional fire and emergency services program. You will administer a fire protection/prevention training program (e.g., structural firefighting, aircraft crash and rescue response, fire prevention/emergency medical services, hazmat response, advanced rescue techniques) for a fire department. You will develop policies and guidance for an installation fire and emergency services program. You will inspect hazardous material operations and surrounding areas to determine all precautions and regulations have been followed.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) advising the command and senior leadership on fire protection and related emergency response activities; 2) explaining the principles and theories of fire investigation to determine the cause of fire and recommend corrective action; 3) developing and implementing the hazmat program; and 4) assisting the Fire Chief in deterring long and short-range requirements for resources such as manpower, equipment, facilities, contract services, and staff support sufficient to meet the needs of the customer commands. NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for the position. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Airport Firefighter and Hazmat Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
