As a Personnel Research Psychologist at the GS-0180-12/13, you will be part of Office of Workforce Policy and Innovation, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for all aspects of organizational surveys including data collection, analysis of complex survey data, and results presentation and reporting.
Duties
Develops data resources, information, and tools to support continuous improvement and high performance within the Federal workforce.
Promotes informed decision-making by providing critical program, policy, and Federal workforce information.
Utilizes knowledge of all aspects of the survey process, such as survey development, administration, and implementation.
Supports data analysis to include performing both routine and customized analysis and reporting of results.
Guides agencies through successful participation in the survey and reporting process.
Qualifications
BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: You must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited or pre-accredited academic institution leading to a bachelor's or higher degree with a major or equivalent in Psychology to receive further consideration.
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirement listed above, applicants must have specialized experience or education to be minimally qualified for this position.
For the GS-12:
A. You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following tasks: 1) Participating in data analysis utilizing SPSS, SAS, R, or other statistical programs to support efforts in addressing individual organizational and multi-organizational workforce analysis and/or evaluation; 2) Collaborating in the development and administration of surveys for research, development, or evaluation of human capital programs; and 3) Participating in the development of survey results reports to communicate findings effectively to a variety of audiences. (Note: Your resume must fully support this experience). (Note: If qualifying with specialized experience, you must include evidence of this specialized experience in your resume, including the dates of experience (month/year) and hours worked per week)
OR
B. Completed all requirements for a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology or related field (e.g., applied, social, or applied social psychology, or organizational development) (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts)
OR
C. Less than the experience in "A" and less than the graduate level education in "B," but have a combination of the type of experience in "A" and type of graduate education in "B" totaling 100% of the required qualifications. To determine the combination, compute experience as a percentage of experience in "B"; determine education as a percentage of education in "A"; add the 2 percentages. Total percentages must equal at least 100%. Only graduate education exceeding 1 year (i.e., 18 semester hours) may be combined with experience. (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts)
For the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following tasks: 1) Conducting data analysis utilizing SPSS, SAS, R, or other statistical programs to support efforts in addressing individual organizational and multi-organizational workforce analysis and/or evaluation; 2) Developing and administering surveys for research, development, or evaluation of human capital programs; and 3)Developing survey results reports to communicate findings effectively to a variety of audiences. (Note: You must include evidence of this specialized experience in your resume, including the dates of experience (month/year) and hours worked per week.)
