As Administrative Officer for the District Executive Office, the incumbent is responsible for providing a variety of administrative services essential to the direction and operation of the organization, determining the methods of management and means of incorporating these services into the overall operation of the organization, assessing their operability and impact, and modifying procedures and processes as necessary to make the services responsive to their intended purpose.

Duties

General Office Support such as: receives and refers telephone calls/emails and visitors. Assists the Executive Officer in support of congressional visits and related logistics. Coordinates travel arrangements for the District Commander and Congressional Team. Develops reports and documents to present data on projects or initiatives by District leadership. Prepare, maintain, and track all official correspondence for the Executive Office with proper format, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Processes a wide variety and volume of personnel and administrative data needed to support the Executive Office, Staff and District. Serves as Executive Office Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder for micro purchases and training. Serves as the SME for the Executive Office and Staff regarding time and attendance and matters related to the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS). Prepares and/or assists the Executive Officer, District Commander, and Deputy District Commander in the preparation for internal and external presentations, meetings with other agencies or higher authority. Assists the District Counsel in the preparation of documents for Command review when it pertains to confidential matters.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes analytical and evaluative skill to perform qualitative and quantitative assessments of work processes, budget data, personnel utilization; develop program plans and work methods; utilization of automated tools related to human resource requests, financial management; and administrative experience in scheduling and arranging federal travel and training requirements. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityAdministration and ManagementDecisivenessFinancial ManagementOral CommunicationSelf-ManagementTeamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
