This position is in the Special Events Program (SEP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The DHS SEP core mission areas; information collection; risk assessment; information sharing; and coordination of federal support to major special events.
This Program supports unified interagency, intra-agency, and inter-government coordination and information sharing efforts for special events requiring coordinated federal engagement.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Program Analyst, GS-0343-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Assess program effectiveness or the improvement of complex program and management processes and systems encompassing difficult and diverse functions or issues that affect critical aspects of the DHS SEP.
Serves as a subject matter expert on the SEP portfolio, providing advice and guidance in areas that require extensive knowledge of special events security best practices, incident command, resource coordination, information sharing and interpretation, and risk assessment for special events and related program processes and methods.
Researches, analyzes, and provides expert technical advice and assistance on complex special event related issues, such as issues or problems which impact substantive, mission-oriented programs.
Provide expert advice and guidance on the DHS SEP, processes, and related activities with national impact.

Requirements

Qualifications
Specialized Experience
You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in Federal service.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
Providing advice and guidance in areas that require extensive knowledge of special event security operations and/or planning.
Providing advice and guidance in information sharing for special events or other complex coordination environments.
Researching, analyzing, and aiding on complex threats, attack trends and special event related issues that impact substantive, mission-oriented programs.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
