About the Position: This is a Prevention Support Specialist position at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.

Duties

Serve a Senior Prevention Support Specialist integrating preventive initiatives and processes within their assigned organization to improve and enhance the readiness of the Total Army. Facilitates, organizes, contributes, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and working groups. Assist in the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the prevention system and processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • DoD SPARX Knowledge Part 1 and 2, Incumbent must complete the training specific to prevention activities being delivered, and complete all requirements to obtain the DoD Prevention Badge. Within six months of employment.
  • SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this GS-13 job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityOral CommunicationPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
