This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Facilities Division WCF. As a Facilities Management Specialist, you will be monitoring and coordinating contractor activities for construction, maintenance, and equipment installation projects.
Duties
As a Facilities Management Specialist, you will:
Conduct studies related to projects such as maintaining service contracts and procurement requests.
Perform short and long-term planning to evaluate and project the future needs of the facilities management program including budgeting for service contracts, equipment and supply needs, and other procurement actions required to provide services.
Conduct research related to material and product needs and provide recommendations to management for the planning, coordination, and accomplishment of building renovation projects.
Prepare Statements of Work (SOW), technical evaluations and Independent Government Estimates (IGE) for construction and building renovation projects.
Review engineering specifications, contract drawings and contract proposals.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Assisting with coordinating contractor activities for facilities construction, maintenance, and equipment installation projects; AND
Developing project schedules and costs in accordance with contract specifications.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
an LL.M., in a related field;
OR
You may qualify with a combination of specialized experience and education.
To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
