About the Position: This position is with DoD Education Activity HQ. Office of the Director Strategic & Organization Excellence Project and Risk Management Branch in Alexandria, VA.

Duties

Project Management responsibilities include to plan, execute, monitor, and control complex and large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders, resources, and risks. Assist in overseeing and coordinating multiple interrelated projects and ensure alignment with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Process Improvement responsibilities include contributing to the Agency’s high-impact and complex strategic improvement initiatives that cut across organizational lines. Ensure process improvement projects are integrated with other activities and the overall organizational mission. Delegate tasks, monitor performance, and evaluate results of project team members. Develop, draft, and disseminate project management and process improvement policies and procedures to DoDEA.

Requirements

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

  • One year trial or probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Complete projects and/or studies which require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, and mission-oriented programs; Provide advice regarding alternative courses of action including projected outcomes, risk identification, mitigation, etc.; Engage with quantitative or qualitative analysis of policies, programs, and processes related to education services resource management.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Manages and Organizes InformationPlanning and EvaluatingProject Management
