This position is part of the NNSA - Associate Administrator for Information Management and Chief Information Officer, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as Information Technology Specialist (Security), providing advice in enhancing Cyber Operations of NNSA computing environments. The incumbent will support Unclassified and Classified Systems and Major Applications under Office of Information Management (NA-IM) cognizance.

Basic Requirements for NQ-02 pay band or GS-09 equivalent level:
Education: A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-01 pay band or the GS-07 level. Examples of Specialized Experience:
Experience applying IT security, technical, and administrative aspects of information management, information assurance, automation, and emerging technologies
Experience using the principles of cyber security and development of cyber security policy, procedures, and standards
Experience related to assessing the capability of current and proposed organizational structures and funding levels to achieve program objectives
Experience communicating orally and written to senior leadership/authorities
