Incumbent serves as the Administrative Support Assistant, for assigned clinical services providing care in the Lee County VA Healthcare Center (LCHCC) and Southern Clinics.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Conducts factual analysis of the various section programs and reports on problem areas, trends in workload, staffing needs, leave usage, and makes recommendations for problem resolution.
Coordinates activities with appropriate Services and/or their representatives when such functions cross organizational lines and/or require modification of existing or emerging matters of healthcare system policy.
Provides Vista and CPRS training to the staff involved in clinics.
Provides basic computer training on hardware, data processing procedures, CPRS, clinical application programs and office automation programs and practices used in the organization.
Research and provide feedback to staff who present problems with Vista clinical applications, contacting appropriate Information Resources Management (IRM) and Health Administration Services Staff, Information Technology Specialists/CAC's and/or ADPAC's in other services.
Responsible for ensuring that he/she receives the appropriate instructions and/or training for ADP support duties and all Vista clinical applications and CPRS instructions that pertain to assigned clinical service.
Functions as an ADPAC; assigns computer access and verify codes to new staff and determines level of access to be granted.
Coordinate help to users and/or initiate Help Desk requests within Vista (or other software) for complex problems involving equipment, equipment repair, and software (including software troubleshooting) when problems cannot be solved at the ADPAC level.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/01/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
This position requires a typing requirement of 40 words per minute.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:: utilizes personal computers, fax, printers, scanners, and other information technology equipment; as well as proficiency in software programs such as MS Word; Excel; and PowerPoint; self-manages, organizes. and prioritizes work independently; uses creative approach to perform a variety of duties in support of special projects; analyzes, problem-solves and creates reports utilizing system data; possesses above average written and oral communication skills; Possesses above average customer service skills for both internal and external customers.

Physical Requirements: The work is relatively sedentary. The work may require walking, standing, bending and carrying light items.
