The Air Force Research Laboratory's Integration and Operations Division, Facilities Support Branch seeks an experienced mid-level professional to fill a Facility Mechanical Engineer, DR-0830-02 vacancy.
Duties
-Performs plans, studies, analyses and technical evaluations of concepts and designs for Directorate RDT&E equipment, real property mechanical systems and research and R&D support equipment, capabilities, and facilities.
- Serves as a consultant to Directorate scientific and engineering personnel in mechanical engineering, facility engineering, facility operation, and project management.
Performs design, specification, configuration, programming, and checkout of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, specialty lab utility, and instrumentation systems associated with aerospace systems research, and associated control and automation systems.
- Applies engineering theory, practices, and principles to improve system performance, accuracy, safety and reliability.
- Provides technical direction to resolve field-related process and mechanical system problems.
- Prepares long and short-range plans for providing research and real property mechanical systems and research and R&D support equipment, capabilities and facilities.

To qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the DR-01 broadband/GS-11 grade level. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade DR-01 (GS-11) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing, planning and technical evaluation of concepts and designs for real property mechanical systems and research and support equipment; providing technical direction to resolve field-related processes and mechanical system problems.
