This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will provide technically authoritative advice and guidance on developing and implementing policies, programs, and procedures to ensure the security and reliability of information systems throughout the organization.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Prioritize and schedule areas to be evaluated and develop assessment criteria.
Analyze findings and develops and present recommendations on methods to prevent security incidents and ensure systems reliability.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs.
Monitor application of approved security procedures by system users for Treasury's compliance with information security requirements across IT programs.
Provide expert technical advice on security aspects of network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security applications and policies.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-12: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
- Experience developing methodologies or frameworks for providing consistent and repeatable data security architecture.;
AND
- Experience in assisting and creating security vulnerability management metrics.;
AND
- Experience introducing, assessing, and recommending new software technologies and technical standards that align with the organizational strategic plan for modernization and automation of human capital, cybersecurity or financial data management systems and solutions.;
AND
-Experience in planning, designing, and carrying out studies or projects, coordinating with experts both within and outside the organization.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
