This position is located in the OFFICE OF PUERTO RICO STATE DIRECTOR.
Serves as a management assistant in an office of Rural Development (RD) providing broad analytical support in such areas as organization, records, reports, forms, file, communication, and directives management.
Duties
Maintains a wide variety of complex substantive records, e.g., of office productivity, project status, costs/expenditures, etc.
Prepares periodic statistical reports based on available records.
Uses initiative to search records and insert subject matter data from a wide range of source material.
Set up meetings and conferences, both locally and at remote locations.
Make travel arrangements; prepare requests and maintain travel records.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess the ability to speak and write both Spanish and English fluently.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement (March 04, 2024) including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
GS-5: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Skills in planning and managing the office's daily administrative functions, maintaining automated systems to record, reconcile, validate, and track data; gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. OR 4 full years of education above high school. Equivalent combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
GS-06: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05; or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: Experience planning and managing the office's daily administrative functions, maintaining automated systems to record, reconcile, validate, and track data; experience gathering and compiling available data and information for aspects of a program and reports findings to a higher level employee; and experience monitoring and reviewing established administrative procedures and program operations and assisting in the preparation of memoranda, reports and charts; using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. There is no substitution of education at this grade level Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
