Duties

Oversees project management support for infrastructure and systems projects, IT support of business applications for the site DLA organizations and the planning, management, (continued) and operational support services necessary to ensure secure and continuous operation of applications, network, and system environments for J-6 customers, (continued) including planning and coordinating IT Continuity of operations (COOP)/Disaster Recovery. Responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the activities of subordinate organizational units and for directing assigned staff who is involved in the sustainment (continued) of business applications to support assigned Automated Information Systems (AISs). Provides for the integration of such systems into the current information operations infrastructure and ensures efficient integration capabilities are present to permit operability (continued) with both standard and non-standard AISs managed by Department of Defense (DoD) components. Performs continuous evaluation of the IT service operations processes to ensure compliance with the objectives and goals of the applicable Capability Maturity Model, (continued) and as a member of the Leadership Group, participates in work acceptance process and in interdepartmental resourcing of complex IT projects. Conducts environmental scanning of the technical, business, and political aspects of the business systems functional area, including emerging technology, and presents findings/ assessments to J-6 senior managers for possible adoption in DLA/J-6. Ensures continuing technical liaison with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and private external service providers as well as with DLA's customer (continued) and user community (i.e., other DoD/government agencies, the Military Services and DLA's suppliers). Develops IT operations support budget requirements for the Program Budget Review (PBR) / Program Objective Memorandum (POM) requirements.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC/ CUSTSPT) your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: - Directs a program that performs technical and administrative work concerned with integrated systems of computer programs and/or computer equipment, wide-area telecommunication networks, local area networks, telecommunication protocols, and emerging IT efforts that support secure IT operations. - Manages programs that provide planning, management, and operational support services for enterprise systems to ensure secure and continuous operation of applications, network, and system environments. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed: 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
