This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DCSC/TRANSPORT SERVICES DIRECTORATE.

Duties

Directs, assigns and reviews work of the DoD Network Information Center, assuring that production and quality requirements are met. Assure security protection required for systems and networks processing all sensitivity levels of information. Prepares lifecycle maintenance documentation, reports, network security operating procedures, and operational plans. Provides assistance and advice to users of Domain Name System (DNS) and Internet Protocol (IP) services and ensures that all DNS related services meet operational requirements of the activity. Diagnoses, analyzes and resolves Information Technology, software and/or hardware problems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in operations of largescale Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Experience working with Domain Name System (DNS) technology. experience analyzing and providing salient comment on international policy or technical documents. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-14 grade level.
