The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Logistics Complex Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
for the Financial Improvement Audit Remediation (FIAR) program.
Duties
Serves as Subject Matter Expert
Develops audit remediation plans, conducts critical testing, and prepares detailed assertion packages to address
the three audit remediation mandates.
Represents the Complex as the Technical Subject Matter Expert on all Financial Improvement and Audit
Remediation (FIAR) activities.
Serves as principal advisor to the Complex Commander for matters related to Financial Improvement and
Audit Remediation

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing financial analysis within the organization to support decision processes, producing internal reporting measures to guide management, monitoring the financial results of operations, and providing budget estimates to aid operation. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Complex organizations, their environment, and their functions to understand the customers'
requirement and to arrive at innovative approaches to best meet those requirements.
2. Extensive knowledge of financial management and program objectives, Financial Improvement and Audit
Remediation objectives, guidelines and regulations.
3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, USAF,
AFMC, AFSC, and Complex strategic plans and strategic planning processes in order to develop short and long
range staff operations planning guidance in accordance with broad USAF, AFMC, AFSC, and Complex policies
and objectives.
4. Skill to manage several projects simultaneously; high degree of analytical ability to plan, and adjust work
operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available
resources.
5. Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, and interact effectively at the highest levels in order to
achieve stated positions or to make an adequate case for a particular strategy which may not be readily accepted, but
which is the best solution to achieve overall Complex goals.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
