This position serves as an Executive Assistant to the Office of Governmental Affairs management team and staff. The position is intended to coordinate, communicate, review, and analyze a wide range of projects and initiatives to support executive leadership.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. OPM Qualifications Standards are available here: Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301 Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-09. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience using PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat to produce executive-level communications, presentations, and reports. Experience coordinating travel arrangements to include preparing travel requests and authorizations as well as processing travel vouchers using a financial management system such as CONCUR. Experience handling office operations and directing non-routine situations and matters. Providing input in administrative policies and procedures to staff. Experience effectively communicating or interacting with senior or executive level staff. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Education may be substituted for experience at the GS-11 grade level if the following is met:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree (if related); or
  • 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree (if related); or
  • LL.M., if related

You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application.
