Duties

WHAT IS THE WAGE AND INVESTMENT CUSTOMER ACCOUNT SERVICES DIVISION? A description of the business units can be found at: https://www.jobs.irs.gov/about/who/business-divisions The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position. *Assesses existing and proposed programs and activities to determine their investment potential and contribution to the achievement of the mission and strategic goals. On selected assignments, identifies business, technological, and financial risks within ongoing programs and opportunities directly and indirectly involved in meeting established agency goals and objectives. *Plans, conducts, and completes management analyses of recurring issues and operations to provide management with accurate and timely data, and recommendations. *Uses information technology hardware and software to gather and interpret data, prepare reports, spreadsheets, flow charts, and action plans. *Serves as a member on a number of teams that collaboratively plan, develop, complete, and deliver work under stringent deadlines. *Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-09: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience that is related to the work of this position and has provided you with the competencies required for successful job performance. Qualifying experience is experience that demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative techniques and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to projects or studies involving the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations or substantive administrative support functions. Also extensive knowledge of effective oral and written communications to prepare analytical reports, policy statements and guidance, implementation plans, and presentations. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a master's or equivalent graduate degree in any field of study. OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to any field of study. OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: experience that demonstrated the ability to manage multiple assignments that required a workable knowledge of program oversight; qualitative and quantitative methods; planning policies and procedures; and oral and written communications; and a knowledge of computer applications sufficient to prepare written reports, spreadsheets, and flowcharts; Examples of specialized experience include assignments where you participated in a range of project management principles, practices, methods, and techniques; conducted analysis of issues, and/or of strategic importance; utilize existing approaches and/or techniques in reporting. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field of study that demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work. OR Three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field of study that demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to do the work.
