Duties
As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network) at the GS-2210-14 you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Serving as senior IT Cybersecurity Specialist in the Office of Information Technology Engineering (OITE) for Network services, the incumbent develops and interprets policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of network services throughout the Department of Justice, Office of Inspector General; provides expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other expert specialists on critical Network issues;
Providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on IT issues that meet cyber security standards.
Serving as a senior subject matter expert and the technical principal DOJ/OIG point of contact for configuring and managing the DOJ/OIG Inspector General Network for Information Technology and Exchange (IGNITE) networks and local area network (LAN)/wide area network (WAN)infrastructure.
Meeting with primary stakeholders to coordinate the activities of the customer/user teams working on the analysis and provides technical expertise on hardware, software, and architecture.
Administration of the Configuration Management System (CMS) to ensure accurate tracking and management of all configuration items, providing administration support for software package development, updating the configuration management database (CMDB), and researching and evaluating software and hardware technologies for mobile and client computing equipment.
Performing analyses of current and future systems deployment. Assists in developing IT roadmaps and writing configuration documentation to ensure an accurate and smooth transition of systems, applications, data, and resources to cloud-based or enhanced computing environments.

Qualifications
DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY: This position is being filled using 5 U.S.C., Section 3304 and 5 CFR Part 337, Subpart B, which is the OPM approved government-wide direct-hire authority.

Specialized Experience GS-14:
To qualify for this position at the GS-2210-14 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level obtained in the federal government. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties successfully). Examples of specialized experience include such duties as:
Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure and audio/video (VTC) solutions.
Utilizing in-depth knowledge of advanced networking protocols and technologies, including BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VxLAN, and SD-WAN.
Demonstrated ability to design and deploy scalable and resilient network architectures to support business requirements.
Strong understanding of network security principles and hands-on experience implementing security controls, including IDS/IPS, SIEM, DDoS mitigation, and endpoint protection.
Experience with network performance monitoring and optimization techniques to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent) by the closing date of this announcement.
