Duties
You will develop educational materials, teach, facilitate, and mentor security practitioners from different disciplines and countries using adult-learning methods.
You will develop and maintain expertise to engage in courses, workshops, policy dialogues, academic partnerships, high-level visits, and public outreach.
You will lead and run academic initiatives, groups, and teams.
You will conduct routine and special request administrative duties in a responsible and timely manner, and occasional international travel.
You will maintain productive, professional, respectful, and collegial relationships

Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with experience and knowledge of transboundary security challenges that arise from environmental sources, such as climate. Awareness of related topics would be desirable. These include resource scarcity, migration, and impact on defense forces; the role of militaries, civil society and the private sector; the systems, rules, and processes that guide and regulate interactions between nations and regional entities; and relevant international laws, agreements, and institutions.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Doctoral or Master's degree obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Established or emerging authority in international governance
- Demonstrated alignment with the DKI APCSS vision and mission.
- Proven ability to function as an effective, collegial, team-centric, and collaborative team member.
- Proven record of teaching, research, and facilitation using adult-learning methods
- Strong communication skills for diverse audiences, including government officials.
Desired Selection Criteria
- Experience engaging in policy dialogues and military and civilian practitioners.
- Track record of fostering partnerships and understanding between diverse actors in the Indo-Pacific region in multinational settings at the operational, strategic, or policy level
- Ability to contribute to public outreach initiatives that reinforce collaborative and inclusive security principles.
- Ability to recommend policy objectives to address Indo-Pacific security challenges.

Education
Basic Requirements:
- Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.
or
- Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.
