The FHFA Office of Inspector General (FHFA-OIG) is responsible for, among other things, conducting audits, investigations, and other activities of the programs and operations of FHFA, and recommending polices that promote economy and efficiency in the administration of, and prevent and detect fraud, waste, and abuse in, FHFA's programs and operations.
Duties
This position is in the Office of Audits.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess expertise and skills in directing IT performance audits in conformance with applicable professional standards and FHFA OIG policy.
The incumbent Supervisory IT Specialist serves as an Audit Director responsible for directing teams that perform highly technical and complex audits of IT systems security and information systems security programs and practices of the FHFA and the entities it regulates as appropriate.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring IT audits are performed in conformance with applicable professional standards and FHFA OIG policy.
Working with the IT Audit Manager and IT Specialists, develops overall audit approach, including objectives, testing methodologies, and milestone dates.
Reviews and approves audit plans prepared by subordinates or reviewed by the Contracting Officer's Representatives (CORs) in the event an audit is contracted.
Reviews audit reports and supporting documentation prepared by subordinates or contractors for conformance with applicable professional standards and FHFA OIG policy. Monitors implementation of corrective actions recommended in audit reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience: For the EL-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the EL/GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is:
- Experience directing subordinates in ensuring audits of IT systems and information systems security programs and practices are performed in conformance with applicable professional standards.
- Experience developing overall audit approach, including objectives, testing methodologies, and milestone dates. AND
- Experience planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
