DON Pathways Internship Program This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

You will perform entry level tasks. You will have minimal understanding of Dept. of Defense (DoD) criteria, requirements and standards related to the construction management field. You will perform quality assurances and construction oversite on no-complex projects or selective portions of projects under the mentorship of a supervisor. You will be assigned construction manager duties by a higher level mentor / supervisor. You will assist higher-graded employees, individually or as a team member, by performing procedural and technical work.

Requirements

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

GS-07 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Minimal understanding of requirements and standards related to construction management; ability to perform quality assurance and construction management oversite on non-complex projects or selective portions of projects. GS-09 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Moderate understanding of requirements and standards related to construction management; ability to perform quality assurance and construction management oversite on moderately complex projects or selective portions of projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

• Completion of 1 academic year of post-high school study

Applicants must also be enrolled in an ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE THAT RELATES TO THE POSITION (I.E. ENGINEERING/IT) related field. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

The required education must lead to a bachelor's degree with specialization in or directly related to the field in which the student trainees will receive training on the job. The degree of specialization in this field must satisfy on graduation the specific educational requirements in the qualification standard for the corresponding two-grade interval positions.
