About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located 7th Signal Command, 93rd Signal Brigade, located at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Duties

Works as a Senior Information Technology Specialist coordinating, integrating, and participating in the technical aspects of IT Project Managment. Evaluates the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall performance of regional Army IT systems and networks. Determines requirements for regional data centers, including DISA Mega Centers, and 7th SC(T) "server farms." and for consolidation of application systems. Implements hardware and software consolidation. Coordinates operating system and application software fielding within the region. Coordinates fielding of office automation, STAMIS, ISMs, and regional and local standard applications.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
• A Cyber Term Appointment may be extended to a maximum of five years depending upon the needs of management.
• Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
