Duties

You will develop, implement and execute Information Assurance (IA) policies, processes and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility. You will promote awareness of IA educational materials and programs. You will analyze IA security events to determine impacts and/or required corrective actions. You will develop/review information security certification and accreditation package artifacts.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying IT and Information Assurance(IA) theory, principles, methods and practices in the development, implementation and/or execution of IA polices, tools and processes; 2) Developing and implementing activities designed to protect and restore IT systems; 3) Monitoring and evaluating IT system security requirements to ensure compliance; and 4) Providing advice and guidance in the implementation of IT security policies and procedures. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying IT and Information Assurance (IA) principles and practices in the development and/or implementation of IA polices, tools and processes; 2) Implementing activities designed to protect and restore IT systems; and 3) Evaluating IT system security requirements to ensure compliance. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education:

GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

GS-09: master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
