The primary purpose of the position is to provide journeyman level expertise that involves developing, delivering & supporting IT systems in order to obtain, maintain, and sustain an (ATO) for modeling & simulation capabilities related to aircraft & their subsystems within a highly integrated virtualized battlespace environment.

Planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified operating systems and applications software, managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment, managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability
Developing and documenting systems administration standard operating procedures, resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems
Ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, efficiency, configuration, and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements
Planning, testing, configuration, installation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats
Diagnosing and resolving network problems; developing network backup and recovery procedures and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is:

Must have knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical, test engineering disciplines, combat aircraft avionics, weapon systems, electronic warfare systems and related subsystems, and software engineering
Must have knowledge of concepts, principles, and techniques across multiple interrelated and integrated technical and test disciplines applied to human-in-the-loop simulators of advanced aircraft weapon systems (4th, 5th gen and beyond) to include operating procedures, and simultaneous operation of multiple, interconnected, simulation systems
Must have leadership and mentorship abilities and an ability to grow and lead an effective team in a dynamic environment where decisions are critical to removing constraints and furthering the test mission
1. Knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.
2. Knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to implement and configure system /network compliance with security accreditation requirements.
3. Knowledge of Local Area Network security requirements and techniques to implement protection of computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry.
4. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to implement security accreditation requirements to counter vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
5. Ability to apply findings of assessments to mitigate IT security risks through the implementation of corrective actions. Ability to apply policies, principles, and IT security concepts sufficient to carry out activities leading to security C&A. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Education
Basic Requirements for 2210:
Degree: in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
