Duties
You will serve as the program manager for environmental subject matter areas.
You will administer the command's solid and hazardous waste program.
You will conduct assessments, inspections, and audits of facilities and operations to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Navy and local environmental protection requirements.
You will initiate actions to resolve problems.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Providing environmental protection services for hazardous waste operations;
Applying environmental policies, organization, operations, work practices, and parameters to recommend changes and control measures;
Collecting data for review/study, verify results, and discuss technical aspects of work with scientists, engineers, and/or other environmental experts; and
Using standard data gathering and analysis techniques to collect and review technical information on environmental activities, air quality and to assist in identifying problems and recommending solutions.

Education
You may substitute the following education in lieu of specialized experience:
possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree,
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree,
or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
