You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) for the College of Maritime and Operational Warfare Department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will assist staff with questions and issues related to administrative functions. You will answer telephone calls to direct caller to appropriate person. You will assist with travel claim liquidation for the department.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This position requires general knowledge of the Joint Ethics Regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-06: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector :: 1) Coordinating travel through a web-based travel system according to regulations and provide travel support; 2) Utilizes Microsoft programs and other automated systems to prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents for office administrative support; 3) Maintaining communication with personnel/customers by phone or email to assist with questions or provide information; and 4) Utilization of automated systems to maintain and enter student grades. GS-07: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: : 1) Utilize a web based travel system in according to regulations and provide travel support; 2) Utilizes Microsoft programs and other automated systems to prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents for office administrative support; 3) Maintaining communication with personnel/customers by phone or email to assist with questions or provide information; and 4) Utilization of automated systems to maintain and enter student grades.
