Duties
Assign workstations' on-the-job instruction to new employees; resolves intermediate work problem.
Prepare quarterly and daily inventories as required.
Will be required to answer trouble calls within area of responsibility.
Required to keep simple records
Inspect area during work operations and checks the progress of linen delivery and handling.
Recommend personnel actions to supervisor based on knowledge of individual performance and conduct of subordinates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laundry Worker Leader ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex activities within a large laundry facility. I am skilled in independently planning and scheduling work assignments on a daily basis within the instruction and time limits provided. I am skilled planning and prescribing deadlines and work sequences for individual workers. I am skilled in recommending performance requirements, promotions, reassignments, or other status changes of assigned personnel prior to initiation. I am skilled in explaining work requirements, methods, and procedures. I am skilled in instructing subordinates on new procedures.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort: Must be able to bend, stoop, stand constantly and be able to lift objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions: Work in enclosed areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation and is exposed to vibration, infections, skin irritants, wet and slippery floors.
