About the Position: This is a IT Specialist (System Analysis), GS-12 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Engineering Division.

Duties

Makes computations of data bandwidth capacities and loading, physical infrastructure sizing, and type and quantity of equipment and materials suitable to requirements. Reviews and approves equipment shop drawings and proposals by Contractors. Coordinates ICT design with electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, environmental, and architectural disciplines and end-user stakeholders to ensure direct and ancillary ICT support is provided to develop a complete and usable product. Performs systems reviews to assure users have consistent high quality, reliable, and cost effective facilities throughout USACE and its customers. Performs equipment and system testing to verify installation, operation, and site conditions for studies and future design.

• Incumbent is required to possess and maintain a current Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential.

Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (System Analaysis): Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilize computer aided software to produce and review information communications technology design projects; AND 2) Provide technical guidance on information communications technology and cybersecurity operations on projects; AND 3) Evaluate technical aspects of information communications technology and cybersecurity operations for compliance with codes, guidelines, and procedures.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
