Duties

If selected for this position you will serve as the district Information Technology Specialist and ALS Litigation Support Manger responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance involving Litigation Support (LS) and two or more other IT specialty areas (e.g. desktop support, network support, website management, etc.) which support the information management needs of the United States Attorney's office (USAO) and the District of Nebraska Discovery Center. Typical duties include: Manage and direct the District of Nebraska Discovery Center which is responsible for the intake, processing, ingestion, and preparation of criminal/civil discovery; Create and coordinate litigation support services (including trial preparation and presentation) in response to customer needs; Prepare computerized trial presentation programs; Install, configure, and maintain computer litigation support equipment; Perform testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, maintenance of Litigation Support resources used for the transmission of information in data, voice and/or video format; Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain customer hardware and software. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation

Qualifications

GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service. Specialized Experience is experience that equipped you with the competencies needed to perform the duties of the job. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Examples of specialized experience include: maintaining network architecture and infrastructure; configuring and maintaining enterprise servers, hubs, VPNs, firewalls, internet intrusion detection, routers, switches wireless architecture components and Clouds solution; monitoring network capacity and performance; analyzing network traffic patterns and installing network software fixes, upgrades, and enhancements; resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems; designing, developing, testing, implementing, and managing internet and intranet websites; implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; implementing programs to ensure users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures; instituting a rigorous content management plan to provide users with appropriate information in an effective manner; and assessing and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements and providing recommendations to resolve cited problems.
