This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis.
The primary purpose of this Chief of State and Local Engagement position is to plan, organize, and direct the activities of State and Local Engagement, ensuring activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, GS-0343-15, you will serve as the Chief of State and Local Engagment. Your typical work assignments may include:
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of State and Local Engagement, ensuring that all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Develop goals and objectives integrating organization and State and Local Engagement objectives.
Provide strategic management and oversight of the SLIC and HSIN-Intel.
Research, interpret, analyze and apply various guidelines, policies, regulations, etc.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities, planning work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules.

Requirements

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private sector experience.
For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
Experience working in or directly with professionals in national-level state and local law enforcement/homeland security organizations and who understand the current law enforcement and homeland security operating environment, landscape, policy, and areas of concern.
Possess the ability to develop significant relationships with national level law enforcement and homeland security associations.
Experience coordinating with agency partners and sharing relevant intelligence and threat information with external local stakeholders.
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
