Duties
You will advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
You will formulate budgets, and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
You will review and evaluate budget request, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures.
You will develop, determination, and interpretation of budgetary policies and practices.
You will analyze and recommend cost and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations, implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.

- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
Qualifications
GS-11Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with identifying, establishing or executing current and prior year funding to maintain annual spend plans and provide recommendations or solutions to budge execution issues; and provide guidance to program managers regarding fiscal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to DOD funding requirements within a DoD financial system (ie. DAI).

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11:PhD or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
