About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to perform and coordinate complex duties associated with the revision and production of postgraduate-level publications in the fields of military law and policy under the supervision of the Director of the Professional Communications Program.

Duties

Prepare the publications for both electronic and print publication. Ensure publication design and typographical elements are appropriate, accurate, and consistent from cover to cover. Coordinate with the designer on all aspects of the design and/or layout to ensure the final product is appropriate for the type of publication and subject matter Ensure submissions meet scholarly standards for the fundamentals of research and writing, including clear purpose, realizable scope, suitable research methodology, thorough documentation and citation of sources. Edit articles, manuscripts and/or scholarly papers for grammar, design and/or layout Research and/or review federal and/or military regulation and/or laws to ensure proper citation in publications

Requirements

Preparing publications for electronic and/or print publication; Coordinating with designers on layout and/or design of all publications to ensure accuracy; Assisting in the editing of various legal documents for publication such as; articles, manuscripts, and/ or scholarly papers and Providing detailed reviews of submitted publications for editorial compliance..This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information ManagementOrganizational AwarenessWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
