This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range Test Facility Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties
Reviews and analyzes changes to key agency issues, policies, and programs which effect long and short term strategies.
Analyzes crime and incident statistics to determine trends and risk areas.
Develops and implements plans to support special events.
Develops tasks to branches to provide support with traffic and crowd control, security of personnel and facilities.
Prepares purchase requests for equipment and resource requirements.
Maintains the Directorate of Emergency Services' Arms Room.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- This position requires a medical evaluation/examination for new hires and current employees.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain an Individual Reliability Program certification in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56.
- This position requires the incumbent have or obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
- This position may require the incumbent to work rotating shifts that include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or be able to obtain and maintain Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification and Advance First Aid.
- This position requires new hires and current employees to successfully pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT).
- This position requires the incumbent to qualify semiannually with their assigned weapons.
- This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with Army Regulation 600-85.
- This position requires incumbent to attend and successfully graduate from the Department of the Army Police Academy.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Specialized Experience GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) applying law enforcement procedures to instruct on Federal and local laws, traffic laws, established rules, regulations, and legal authorities; 2) collecting and documenting police and criminal information to determine trends and patterns; and 3) assisting with law enforcement related planning and staff coordination. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) analyzing and evaluating programs in direct support of organizational strategic planning; 2) reviewing changes to agency policy and programs for long and short term strategies; 3) analyzing crime and incident statistics to determine trends and risk areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
