You will serve as a SECRETARY (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the office of the Commanding Officer (CO) Navy Drug Screening Laboratory Jacksonville, Florida (NDSL JAX) of NAVDRUGLAB JAX FL.
Duties
You will serve as the Command Secretary to the CO (Commanding Officer and XO (Executive Officer) for NDSL JAX.
You will provide a full range of secretarial/administrative support ensuring smooth operations of the Command Suite.
You will draft personal correspondence for the CO/XO such as letters of congratulations, condolences, appreciation, and any other associated correspondence as needed or required to be processed.
You will ensure that files include all required documents and that all documents are properly screened prior to submission to leadership.
You will be tasked with completing special projects and assignments that identify and develop program initiatives, satisfying a need or correcting a problem.
Requirements

- This position is eligible for situational telework as appropriate and approved by the Supervisor.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing schedules, meetings, teleconferences and calendars for the Command Suite.
Experience coordinating events and ceremonies ensuring standards and traditions are set forth.
Experience drafting, initiating, reviewing, and maintaining correspondence and reports.
Experience maintaining subject matter files and records,
Experience escorting visitors according to security requirements and routing calls to appropriate staff.
