You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist within the Navy Department Board of Decorations and Medals

Duties

You will compose accurate, brief, and clear correspondence and products at an executive level. You will conduct exhaustive research to validate evidence. You will clearly and confidently present information orally to military and civilian officials, including Flag and General Officers and members of the senior executive service. You will follow administrative processes and correspondence formats. You will effectively manage changes in priorities despite frequent interruptions. You will interpret and apply detailed knowledge and understanding of DoD and DON military award policy.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing and maintaining effective liaison and interpersonal and inter-organization relationships. Handling time sensitive tasks, prioritizing and handling them with attention to detail. Experience conducting the necessary research in the review and adjudication of awards cases. Experience Conducting research and analyze awards policies, statutes, and pertinent laws in developing responses.
