You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST of SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD HAMPTON ROADS.
Duties
You will work with a program office and command security management personnel to determine security requirements
You will review Personnel Security access for consistency with position sensitivity requirements
You will recommend Physical Security procedures needed to accomplish program objectives.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 5 Background Investigation (SSBI) and Top Secret Security Clearance
- The position is designated a Critical Sensitive Position.
Qualifications
FOR THE GS 11
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilize a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements applicable to the information protection program to include: Information security, industrial security, physical security, personnel security, operations security, foreign disclosure, and information assurance in order to perform the full range of complex security management responsibilities; 2) Establish work flow methods and procedures, determine work to be accomplished and set work priorities; 3) Maintain effective relationships with and gain the cooperation of outside contacts, supervisors, managers, and co-workers on complex or controversial issues
FOR THE GS 09
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1)Utilize a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements applicable to the information protection program to include: Information security, industrial security, physical security, personnel security, operations security, foreign disclosure, and information assurance in order to perform the full range of complex security management responsibilities; 2) Analyze extensive program data/interrelationships, and coordinate the preparation of accurate and reasonable program plans and proposals; 3) Apply a wide range of methods used to gather, analyze and evaluate information concerning management, security, and command processes, draw conclusions and recommend appropriate actions.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
