About the Position: Serves as a Program Support Assistant responsible for providing administrative, budget, procedural, occupational health, training, operations, planning, and other office support to the District Safety and Occupational Health Office.
Duties
Serves as the central point of contact for authoritative information on administrative processes and systems.
Establishes controls and suspense dates for tasks and follows up to ensure timely actions and responses are made within the deadlines.
Assists supervisor with the administrative elements of recruitment actions.
Serves as an authority on all correspondence policies and procedures and is the single point of contact for administrative actions within the office with responsibility for determining what format and context is required.
Serves as training coordinator for Safety and Occupational Health Office.
Serves as the District Safety and Occupational Health Office liaison for resource management activities including but not limited to, budget, anticipated training requirements, travel, labor, and awards.
Demonstrates proficiency in automated computer systems and programs such as financial management programs, human resource programs, Microsoft Suite, Army Safety and Occupational Health Management System, etc.
Reviews and evaluates special projects and action items coming into the office.
Acts as the records coordinator for the Safety and Occupational Health Office.

Minimum Qualifications for GS-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with policies, procedures, and regulations related to the functions and work of the office to include three (3) or more of the following: personnel activities, drafting correspondence, training coordination, timekeeping, or travel coordination; AND must have experience accessing or locating information using a personal computer or terminal. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
