This position is located in the Intermountain Region, Region 4, Regional Office in Ogden Utah.
This position is responsible for Directing the Regional Office Administration Staff and assists the Regional Forester and Deputy Regional Forester(s) on diverse matters of regional and national significance.

Duties

Coordinate and integrate issues crossing multiple program areas and track progress of efforts.
Coordinate a wide variety of communications and responses with members of the Regional Leadership Team and Washington Office program officials.
Analyze emerging and critical administrative or workforce development issues identified by the Washington Office, Regional Forester's Team, or unit leaders and staff, and develop strategies and recommendations responding to these issues.
Use knowledge of workplace conditions affecting regional office and field-based employees, and interrelationships among office units to assess impacts of actions proposed or taken and support efficient and effective business practices.
Lead efforts supporting a broad range of administrative and workforce development programs and initiatives throughout the region.
Requirements

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-13: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing two or more of the following:
Provide assistance to leadership and staffing support on all program and administrative issues;
Evaluate assignments concerned with the administrative and operational aspects of the program and organization; and/or
Improve administrative program efficiency and effectiveness.
For the GS-14 grade level: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as one or more of the following duties:
Developed long and short-range plans to include programming, budgeting, integrating, and evaluating complex programs for the agency; and/or
Initiated and led high priority special projects, studies, and initiatives encompassing difficult and diverse functions or issues that affected critical aspects of major agency programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Education
