Duties
You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Operations Department (N3), Technical Control Center (N33) at Naval Computer and
Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT), Norfolk VA.
You will provide access, accountability and access control of the DISA node site, including all DISA and commercial
vendor equipment.
You will Monitors installations and modifications of any associated hardware or software upgrades. Tracks all links, trunks and circuits
from issuance to completion, with the Navy Manager at DISA and COMNAVNETWARCOM and remote host requiring service.
You will analyze site equipment conditions, identifies malfunctioning devices, and refers fix/repair actions to the proper government
or commercial vendor/agency.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
*Experience utilizing a multitude of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) equipment and systems, particularly Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Multi-Service Provisioning Platform, CIENA Fiber Optic devices, CISCO Routers, and Serial and Internet Protocol encryption devices.
*Experience utilizing telecommunications transmission media, data transfer, and switching systems to accomplish work processes through the use of telecommunications devices, methods, services, and facilities.
*Experience reviewing, analyzing, and resolving difficult and complex telecommunications problems.
*Experience applying telecommunications operating techniques, digital and analog communications requirements (sometimes including video), local and wide-area networking, and procedures used by Federal and IT industry organizations.

Education
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position for the GG-11 position:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or
LL.M., if related.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
