You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SHIP PROGRESSMAN (GENERAL) in the OPERATIONS Division at Detachment Guam of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
Duties
You will serve as a first level supervisor over an organizational unit or segment which include nonsupervisory Ship Progressman (General).
You will be responsible for planning, assigning and directing work, training subordinates, initiating personnel request, enforcing disciplinary regulations, and ensuring good housekeeping practices on ship repair operations.
You will plan the use of subordinate workers equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis; establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences; and plan work assignments.
You will determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects; determine how many assignments can be accomplished concurrently, which ones may be delayed; considering skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available.
You will assign work to subordinate employees, provide indirect oversight of trade workers (military personnel) and technical direction and/or assistance in accomplishing the work for direct and indirect employees.
You will set performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and formally appraise employees' performance in accordance with (IAW) established guidelines.
You will be responsible for accomplishing regular worksite inspections of their Area of Responsibility to ensure that all cleanliness and safety standards are enforced through their subordinates.
You will coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
- You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

Qualifications
