You will serve as a SHIP PROGRESSMAN (GENERAL) in the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF, Guam Detachment of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will provide progress of project and work assignments performed by trade shops to supervisor. You will troubleshoot and resolve production issues with trade workers. You will obtain information of delays or anticipated delays on work progress; determines causes and takes or recommends corrective action.   • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230: http://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/140025/140025v1230.pdf
  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES, such as coordinating and monitoring progress of project and work assignments, provide expertise in trades and craft operations involved in the maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification of ships/submarines in one or more of the following trades: (1) Rigging, or (2) Sheetmetal, or (3) Machinist, or (4) Auxiliary Systems, or (5) Sail Team, or (6) Hydraulics/Steering & Diving, or (7) Electric, or (8) Electronics, or (9) Machinist Electrician, or (10) Machinist Mechanic, or (11) Insulator, or (12) Shipwright, or (13) Plastic Fabrics, or (14) Temporary Services, or (15) Gas Free, or (16) Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
