About the Position: The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14 to 15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.
Duties
As a Branch Chief plans, programs, allocates resources for, directs, coordinates, and evaluates a wide range of logistics-related functions including supply management.
Establishes and ensures compliance with higher echelon policies and guidance.
Develops and adjusts long-range plans for the development and improvement of logistics-related programs, ensuring that plans meet mission requirements and incorporate technological advances.
Develop Logistics assessment methodologies, establishes, manages, and controls a comprehensive Logistics review and assessment program covering all programs assigned to the Command.
Applies corrective actions and implements new processes when appropriate to improve the overall logistics mission areas.
Serves as the Commander's representative for logistics programs with the installation, at higher headquarters, and with representatives of other agencies to develop new operational concepts, expand or change operations or procedures, etc.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities on command level tasks.
Evaluates performance and gives advice, counsel, or instruction to individual employees on both work and administrative matters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Secret Security clearance required.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-03). Specialized experience: Experience formulating and implementing acquisition strategies to facilitate a System or Program transitioning to Sustainment. Experience leading a team in completing Supply and/or Maintenance goals. Experience developing contracts such as Performance Work Statements/Statements of Work (PWS/SOW). Experience delivering briefings both written and oral to command.
