The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a management support specialist for the Business Operations Flight.
Duties
Provides management of administrative matters for the Squadron Director, to include managing the squadron's workflow (suspense tracker) and special projects.
Manages the squadron's operating funds to include, but not limited to, travel funding, supplies funding, equipment/furniture funding, and contract services funding.
Provides oversight and management for USAF-Overseas Continental United States (OCONUS) shipment of end item support equipment assets.
As part of the Business Operations Flight, incumbent will employ constant process improvement principles to operational processes, routinely reviewing applicable policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and standardization within the Squadron.
Represents the Squadron with a variety of installation and functional organizations.
Requirements
- Should be generally familiar with AF methodology and analysis techniques
- Work occasionally requires travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft as well as well as travel in the local area by motor vehicle
- As required, incumbent will accomplish TDY in performance of officially assigned duties.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, 0301. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and knowledge of a substantial body of administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives to determine resolutions for problems and identify opportunities for improvement. Other experiences may include advice and assistance on administrative, acquisition, management, financial and operational subject areas while accomplishing a wide variety of analytical assignments. The experience may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc.
EDUCATION: Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., related degree from an accredited college or university(Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have some specialized experience as described in specialized experience, but less than one year; and I have less than two years of doctoral-level education as described education. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 36. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of AFMC, AFSC, Wing, Group and Squadron principles, practices, techniques, and procedures.
2. Knowledge of statistical techniques, which facilitates the effective preparation and interpretation of charts, graphs, reports, etc.
3. Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the technical data program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users.
4. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, to include the ability to make formal presentations.
5. Ability to interface with a wide range of personnel with tact, courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism.
6. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations to meet mission objectives within available resources.
7. Ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research. summarize results, and makes appropriate recommendations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
