This position supports Connected Care/Telehealth throughout the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL under Connected Care Service. In VHA, Telehealth is changing the location of care through Synchronous, Asynchronous and Remote Monitoring programs, as well as other programs that use Connected Care technologies, such as My HealtheVet (MHV), Secure Messaging (SM) and Mobile Apps.
Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Schedules meetings and maintains a calendar of appointments.
Processes incoming or outgoing mail.
Composes various routine memorandums.
Coordinates meetings and prepares meeting minutes.
Receives visitors and callers for the department and routes or takes thorough messages as appropriate.
Determines nature of calls or business of visitors and directs them as appropriate.
Interacts with customers, visitors, and coworkers in a courteous, tactful, helpful manner, exercising mature judgment and diplomacy.
Handles conflict and problems in dealing with customers, constructively and appropriately.
Performs office automation work on a personal computer utilizing multiple programs to complete documentation.
Receives and reviews all incoming correspondence.
Work Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday - Friday

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/20/2024.
Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skill.
40 words per minute typing speed.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-05 Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Utilizing a range of software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Providing office management regarding typing, filing, transcribing, and maintenance of clinical and administrative files.
Performing timekeeping duties.
Maintaining office equipment, and supplies
Compiling and preparing reports and maintaining records.

Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have Four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the high school level (i.e. 6 months of specialized experience and 3 years of education above the high school level). NOTE: Only education beyond the second year can be used in combination with specialized experience to qualify for this grade.

Physical Requirements: The work is generally sedentary but also involves frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, driving, and carrying various Telehealth equipment (tablets, hub devices, weight scales, Blood Pressure cuffs) and office supply items.
